Fleet claims

Report a fleet claim and get moving again.

Give us the first notification of loss for any vehicle on your fleet policy. We notify the insurer, confirm the next steps and keep your vehicles working.

Why speed matters

Early reporting keeps claims costs down.

Fleet claims get more expensive the longer they sit. Late notification gives third party solicitors and credit hire firms room to build costs, and it makes accounts of the incident harder to verify. Reporting the same day gives your insurer the facts first, speeds up repair and recovery decisions and protects the claims record your renewal price depends on.

Reporting a claim

Four steps after a fleet incident

01

Make everyone safe

Check for injuries, call the emergency services if anyone is hurt and move the vehicle out of live traffic if it is safe to do so.

02

Gather the facts

Note the location, time, road conditions, third party registrations, driver names and insurer details, and take photographs of the scene and damage.

03

Report it to us

Send the first notification of loss using the form below, or call the claims line. The sooner we have it, the sooner the insurer can act.

04

We handle the rest

We notify your insurer, pass on the details you gave us and come back to you with the reference, next steps and any recovery or repair arrangements.

Have these ready

  • Vehicle registration and policy number if you have it
  • Date, time and location of the incident
  • Driver name and whether anyone was injured
  • Third party registrations, names and insurers
  • Photographs, dashcam footage and any police reference

What we do for you

  • Notify your insurer with the details you report
  • Confirm the claim reference and next steps
  • Help arrange recovery and repair conversations
  • Chase progress so your vehicles get back on the road
  • Explain how the claim affects your fleet renewal

Fleet claims questions

Common questions about reporting a claim

What is first notification of loss?+

First notification of loss, often shortened to FNOL, is the first report of an incident to your insurer. It records what happened, who was involved and the damage, and it starts the claim.

How quickly should a fleet incident be reported?+

Report it as soon as you can, ideally the same day, even if you do not intend to claim. Most fleet policies require prompt notification of any incident that could lead to a claim.

Should I report an incident if nobody is claiming?+

Yes. Telling your insurer protects you if a third party makes a claim later. Notifying an incident is not the same as making a claim and does not admit liability.

What details do you need from the driver?+

The vehicle registration, driver name, date, time and location, what happened, and any third party or witness details. Photographs and dashcam footage help the insurer settle faster.

Can I report a claim for any vehicle in the fleet?+

Yes. Use the same form for cars, vans, HGVs and licensed taxis on your fleet policy. Report one incident at a time so each vehicle is recorded separately.

Who decides whether the claim is paid?+

Your insurer decides cover and settlement under your policy terms. Our role is to notify them quickly, keep you updated and chase progress on your behalf.

Claim outcomes, excesses and cover are decided by your insurer under your policy wording. We will explain the relevant details as your claim progresses.
